Jenny Rebecca Swiecicki
Jenny is a Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner and self-help instructor, certified acupressure therapist, and herbalist. She is also a labor doula and does placenta encapsulation. She began her studies in the healing arts in 1994 at the California School of Herbal Studies. In 1995 she studied and apprenticed in a student run herb clinic with Tieraona Low Dog at the New Mexico Herb Institute. In 1997 she attended her first Jin Shin Jyutsu course while living in New Mexico, then returned to California where she continued her herbal studies with Karyn Sanders, the host of KPFA's The Herbal Highway. She received her certification in Jin Shin Jyutsu in 2000, and also completed a certification training in Acupressure at the Body Therapy Center in Palo Alto in 2001. Jenny has continued her studies in the healing arts ever since, and has taught herbal and Jin Shin Jyutsu self-help classes in various venues throughout the Bay Area, including the Northern California Women's Herbal Symposium, Charlotte Maxwell Clinic, and the Goose Sisters Healing Center. She lived in Tennessee for 5 months of her pregnancy, where she worked at The Elephant Sanctuary and had the honor of practicing Jin Shin Jyutsu with elephants and dogs there. (As well as humans). She completed the Cornerstone Doula labor doula and postpartum doula trainings in Oakland in 2011 and has been doing doula work since.
Jenny brings the gifts of compassion and intuition to her work, facilitating a space for clients to open up to themselves and to their own healing, birthing and transformation. She has shared an office with her sister in the Grand Lake area of Oakland since 1997.
Jenny has also trained and worked as a gardener, aesthetic pruner, and caregiver and death doula while living in the Bay Area. She enjoys dancing, spending time outdoors, and being with her son Malcolm.
